“Smart Defence and Defence Investment” Seminar

“Carol I” National Defence University, the Academy of Romanian Scientists (Military Sciences Section) and the Centre for Security Analysis and Studies organizes on Wednesday, 31 October 2012, beginning with 09.00, in the “Aula Magna” of “Carol I” Central University Library, at no. 1 Boteanu str., Bucharest, the “Smart Defence and Defence Investment” Seminar.

The Smart Defence concept, launched at the NATO Summit in May 2012, represents the response of the Alliance to the challenge to use with maximum efficiency the limited resources, in the context created by the economic and financial crisis, without affecting the fulfilment of NATO’s strategic objective, generically named “NATO Force 2020”.

The event creates the environment favourable to approaching this concept, as well as to opening perspectives for cooperation, aiming to concretize the policies of implementation of Smart Defence in Romania.

The seminar will be attended by the minister of national defence, NATO high ranking officials, decision factors from the main governmental and political-military structures, and by companies with long partnerships with the field of defence industry.

The military and civilian journalists who wish to participate are expected to arrive at “Carol I” Central University Library between 08.30 – 08.50.

For other details and confirmation of participation please contact Lieutenant Cristina Barna (phone 0213194880 ext.131, fax 0213194866).
